Around the world creeks, streams, rivers and lakes flow to our oceans. We all have an affect on our oceans even if we do not live beside an ocean. Keeping our waterways cleans helps our oceans produce oxygen, medicine and food.
Below are Maps of the Watersheds around the world: Canada, United States, Europe, Asia, South America, Australia
Below the Watershed Maps are photos first a part of the Columbia River Watershed flowing to the Pacific Ocean via Washington State USA, British Columbia and Alberta Canada then part of the largest Watershed in the World, The Great Lakes, Niagara Falls and the St. Lawrence River flowing to the Atlantic Ocean. Many rivers in both the USA and Canada are part of these 2 huge Watershed.
Each country on this planet has an Army Corp of Engineers protecting the shoreline to the high water point, then the municipality takes over. We work well with them at At Adopt A Shoreline AND World Oceans Day Education; we all have the same mission which is to protect the environment and promote sustainability for future generations. We all work towards reducing carbon emissions, conserving natural resources, eco systems, watersheds and promoting eco-friendly practices.
Photos: the credit for the for the first 3 pictures of the Columbia River Watershed, Fraser River is: Co-Founder Stephen Freitag.
The Fraser River begins just west of Jasper BC, then flows to the Ancient Forest, before it goes north to Prince George, where it flows south to the lower mainland, Vancouver BC as a working river and port.
The last set of photos begin at Lake Superior, (not shown is Lake Huron, Lake Michigan, Lake Erie, Lake Ontario) French River Ontario, Bridal Falls Manitoulin Island Ontario, the St. Lawrence River then to the Atlantic Ocean.
