AUSTRALIA
During a telephone call the Marine Science Centre asked "May we take the Ocean Hero Program into every school and utilize the Ocean Hero character and Ocean Hero Certificates?". Of course World Oceans Day Education said YES.
Then in a follow up email we received the following;
"We organized a number of World Oceans Day activities at schools in Victoria (Australia) a few weeks ago and students developed artwork from plastics that we collected on the beach (in line with the New Year’s Resolution: Less Disposable Plastic). We are putting together a display of the artwork at the Australian Marine Sciences Association conference in Geelong next week"

Some businesses are sponsoring shoreline cleanups across the country. Many businesses have linked with us on LinkedIn on our Oceans Day for Businesses page. If your company is sponsoring a World Oceans Day event please let us know and we will post it on the Events page. If your company is hosting an event for employees only, we also salute you and will post your company name as thank you.
Please email; WorldOceansDayEducation at Gmail.com
STEPS EACH BUSINESS CAN TAKE TO HELP OUR OCEANS & WATERWAYS:
1. Encourage water conservation
2. Recycle and reuse
3. Host a shoreline clean up, make a party for your staff and suppliers and/or open it to the public. We will post details under our Events Tab and your local media will help let the public know. (We can help you with a media contact list). We will post a photo of the event too.
4. Encourage suppliers and staff to follow our Sustainable Seafood Tips and 11 Solutions to help our Oceans (both are found under our Education Resource Tab)
5. Encourage suppliers and staff to become an Ocean Hero, a protector of our waterways, oceans & marine life (information is under our In Action Tab).
